Solving Your Dairy Processing Challenges
Are you facing the challenges of a short shelf life, high operating costs, and inconsistent product quality? Our UHT Milk Processing Line has been designed with the latest technology to help you address all your pain points.
Traditional pasteurized milk must be refrigerated throughout the supply chain and has a shelf life of 7-14 days, leading to high waste and limited distribution.
✓ Our Solution: UHT processing offers an extended shelf life of 6-9 months at room temperature without preservatives. It thus reduces waste by up to 30% and promotes wider distribution.
Conventional processing requires refrigeration throughout the supply chain, increasing energy use and operational costs.
✓ Our Solution: Advanced heat recovery systems reduce energy consumption by up to 44% and operational costs by 30-50%.
Manual processes and temperature fluctuations lead to inconsistent product quality and potential bacterial contamination.
✓ Our Solution: Fully automated PLC-controlled systems ensure 99.9% bacteria elimination without any changes to taste, texture, or nutritional value.
Conventional multistep procedures involving pasteurization, pretreatment, and intermediate storage increased the process’s complexity and time.
✓ Our Solution: Integrated targeted OneStep combines these multiple processes into one continuous flow, reducing processing time from days to a few hours.
Cold-chain restrictions limit distribution to local markets, limiting growth opportunities.
✓ Our Solution: Ambient storage enables exports to remote markets and regions with scanty refrigeration infrastructure, at least doubling your market reach.
Several processing steps and huge hold-up volumes result in significant product loss during changeovers and cleaning.
✓ Our Solution: Our solution prevents product wastage, thanks to smooth processing and fewer hold-ups, by reducing losses by 30 percent as compared to conventional procedures.

Expert Guides to UHT Milk Processing Line
UHT processing alters milk proteins-and hence, it may make whey proteins easier to digest because of denaturation, whereas casein proteins may be forming looser curds faster to digestion; however, declines in overall digestibility of the protein are not so important.
UHT processing of milk brings benefits such as increased shelf life, elimination of heat-resistant bacteria for safety, reduction of microbial load, and absence of refrigeration during storage.
The temperature requirement for UHT milk processing is at least 135°C but generally lying in the range of 135-150°C for a period as brief as 2-5 seconds.
The term UHT treatment in milk processing means “Ultra-High Temperature” or “Ultra Heat Treatment”. The method sterilizes milk by heating it to at least 135°C, thereby extending its shelf life.
The primary function of UHT milk processing equipment is to perform ultra-high-temperature treatment to sterilize milk and confer an extended shelf life. In the field of dairy technology, the equipment comprises treatment systems for receiving, cooling, standardizing, sterilizing, and aseptic packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
UHT (Ultra High Temperature) processing heats the milk at 135-150°C for 2-4 seconds, whereas the temperature used for pasteurization ranges between 72 and 75°C and lasts for 15-20 seconds. UHT sterilizes milk completely (including spores) and extends shelf life to 6-9 months without refrigeration, whereas pasteurization extends shelf life to only 7-14 days when refrigerated.
UHT processing retains 96-98% of the nutritional value of milk. There is a minor decrease in vitamin C and some B vitamins (they show a fairly similar pattern to how they would lose it during home cooking), while proteins, calcium, and other essential nutrients are recorded as basically unaffected. This short, very intense heat treatment ends up protecting the nutrients from “damage” rather than pasteurization, which is long and mild.
The unopened UHT milk keeps for 6-9 months at room temperature (the max temperature generally considered for storage is 25°C). No refrigeration is necessary till third-party and UHT companies have not analyzed the opened containers. Thereafter, it is treated as any other milk: keep chilled and use within 3-5 days. The aseptic packaging ensures sterility if no broken seal occurs.
Direct-steam injection into the milk for speedy heating gives it a finer taste (less “cooked flavor”) and is suitable for premium products. Indirect heating uses heat exchangers (tubular or plate) that are energy-efficient and require less maintenance, favoring high-volume production. We make sure we have both, depending on your priorities.
Routine maintenance includes daily checks, weekly seal checks, monthly valve servicing, quarterly heat exchanger inspections, and an annual major service. Maintenance contracts are offered to clients with clearly scheduled visits, remote monitoring, and 24-hour emergency response to ensure maximum uptime.
Of course! This system does cow’s milk (whole, skimmed, and semi-skimed), goat milk, sheep milk, buffalo milk, and plant-based milk alternatives (soy, almond, oat, coconut, rice, and cashew). It can also process creams, flavored milks, nutritional beverages, and other liquid dairy products, with specialty parameters set for each type.
Utilities required are 6-8 bar of steam, 6-8 bar of oil-free compressed air, cooling water at 15-20°C, chilled water at 1-2°C, electrical power (380V/50Hz or 460V/60Hz), and RO water for CIP. On request, we can also incorporate the utility systems (boiler, chiller, air compressor) into the turnkey package.
Based on product type and quality, typically every 10-12 hours of continuous operation. The cycle duration for our Automated CIP System (Clean Insitu System) is minimally 35-45 minutes so that the downtime is kept to a minimum. The system continuously monitors parameters and may initiate cleaning if the need arises without being fixed to a schedule.
